I have been doing work like this for 15-20 years, but just part time and for family and friends. In 2010, I decided to take that leap of faith and start doing it full time. I had printed newspaper for almost 40 years and with the newspaper industry going downhill fast, this decision was a little easier. In 5 years we have completed hundreds of jobs from a broken pipes that was fixed in 15 minutes to adding on a bathroom to a house that only had one. One of our most popular job now is totally remodeling old bathrooms. We tear out the old cast iron tubs, sinks and toilets and replace with new modern fixtures. A lot of those include tiling the showers. It had become a very rewarding business. I work out of my house to keep prices low. I am just trying to make a living, not a killing. All of the subcontractors I deal with (concrete, grading and hauling, HVAC, cabinet refacing) are the same as me, working out of their house so their prices are very competitive. Also, one important thing in my life is my faith.
